I would like to go back in time to about 2 years ago when I still thought my future father-in-law and stepmother-in-law were amazing people that I could really love and respect, and the feeling was mutual. I really felt like they were family then. Hell, I preferred them to my own parents in a lot of ways.

I've just learned that there is no truth in "forgive and forget" because you can never forget the things people say, not when they're malicious barbs intended to damage you.
